It really is a privilege to partner with this organisation. They have great products and long-lasting relationships with their customers. You might say, so do a lot of other businesses. They also have an office in every state, as well as an international footprint. OK, that too is impressive. Where this business really started capturing my fascination is when they started talking about their culture, their plans for the future and how they invest in their people. This organisation provides technical engineering solutions for medium-to-large scale construction/development projects, mining, government, utilise and rail industries. Today, through a combination of state and federal governments investments, including infrastructure projects and a buoyant mining industry there are plenty of opportunities to capitalise on. So, the company is also investing in its future by appointing a seasoned, technical sales individual that thrives on growing a portfolio of medium-to-large customers. Make no mistake, you will be measured on new business sales throughout the assigned territory – New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania.
This role also takes on a dual purpose. You will be a technical specialist to sales teams within the geospatial (*1) divisions throughout your territory. The relationships that they have with their customers can be used as leverage to provide additional solutions to your product portfolio – “deformation monitoring”(*2) .
Background – skill-set: I have intentionally not provided precise details of the solutions and services that the company provides, because you don’t need to have sold their specific products previously. But, what is critical is that you have a technical background with a sound understanding of the infrastructure and/or construction, mining industries. And of course, you can demonstrate success growing a portfolio of accounts across the above industries. Personality: this will determine your success to secure your role.
